The planning application for Tar Farm Solar Farm has received planning consent.

Tar Farm Solar Farm will:

  • Save approximately 11,200 tonnes of CO2 each year the Solar Farm is in operation - this adds up to 448,000 tonnes of CO2 over the Solar Farm’s operational lifetime.

  • Create enough renewable energy to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 15,000 homes.

  • Provide a range of measures designed to improve biodiversity. A Biodiversity Net Gain assessment has found that the Solar Farm will provide a 18.8% increase in habitat units and a 72.7% increase in hedgerow units.
